This picture has been a good seller for me over the years, so it took me aback when I saw someone had ordered it as a throw pillow.

I never would have thought it would look this good.

Sold earlier this year . . . 15 pictures to fill a wall

In March of this year I was contacted by a designer who wanted a wall of "nautical bits" for her client.

The client had already decided on the photos he wanted, and he wanted 15 of them, all of which would be laid out on the wall, individually framed.



It was an interesting concept, and although each image was small, taken as a whole I can see how the combination would have impact.

These are three examples of what the client selected. Fun project!

Sold earlier this year . . .

I created this image in late 2016 and it's sold numerous times as a print. But when someone ordered the picture as a throw pillow this past March, it took me aback. It looked great as a pillow! Just great.

It's fun to see one's art presented in a different manner. So unexpected. Such a surprise.

Interesting to see what buyers choose . . .

When someone buys two or more of my pictures, I enjoy seeing how the combination looks together.

For all I know, each of these pictures hangs in a different room, but the link between all three is obviously a southwestern or Native American vibe, especially since the buyer lives in Idaho.

And the third picture, "Santa Fe Windows," is yet another photomontage, with the windows coming from a photo I took in Santa Fe, as well as bits of architectural detail I found walking around the town. Three photos to one buyer, each dramatically different, yet the same sort of "feeling" in all three.

"Four Hearts"

A buyer from North Carolina purchased this picture via Fine Art America and requested it be printed on metal (which created a handsome look) and it was big — 48” on the long side. Now that’s impressive!

I made each one of the square sheets of paper as well as each of the four hearts using watercolor paint and thin paper.

It was a challenge to make, but worth it, since I really like the results. And I hope the person in North Carolina continues to enjoy it daily.

SOLD: Three "postal art" pictures . . .

I make a lot of postal-oriented pictures. Some are physical collages, others are physical collages that I’ve brought into the computer and tweaked a bit, and some are photomontages done entirely in the computer using my own photos, my collections of stamps, postal ephemera, and more.

I love making these pictures, but I realize they’re not appealing to everyone. I offer them at Fine Art America / Pixels because I like them, and maybe there are some kindred spirits out there who will find them appealing, too.

So when I saw these three come up as having sold the beginning of the year, I was pleasantly surprised. They are matted and framed exactly as the buyer wished (well, except for the bottom one). They make a good-looking combination, don’t you think?

San Francisco 1952 Air Mail (Square Version)
Minimalistic photomontage incorporating photos of a postage stamp, the side of a truck, a rubber-stamped number, and more. I also created an elongated rectangular version of this image.
